The Challenge

Although this Amsterdam-based biotech has drawn scientists from across the world, developed mind-blowing equipment, and supported breakthroughs in the treatment of cancer, it felt that its impact was not fully understood, neither by the scientific nor the investor communities. So, we were briefed to convey in a compelling and accessible way the purpose, the progress, and the promise of this inspiring firm.

The Solution

We devised a documentary with cinematic qualities. An arc that begins and ends with one of the founders, with a personal story that sums up the mission of this whole business. The teams at work and play. Interviews with illustrations, with high-quality graphics, interactive overlays, text on screen… and a powerful metaphor. We played with pace, chapterizing the film, so sections could be extracted for multiple formats. Working closely with these precise scientists, we achieved a careful balance of content both credible and captivating. Above all, a heartfelt story of the work being done in the war on disease.
